Northern Illinois Disposal Services goal is to be the leader in commercial, industrial and residential waste collection. Our mission is to meet the collection needs of local communities, businesses and industry, with dedication and integrity.

As a fully integrated waste service company, Northern Illinois Disposal Service understands the importance of waste diversion to our customers. As do most industry professionals, we believe the effective methods of waste diversion are reduction, re-use and recycling. Northern Illinois Disposal Service works closely with the communities, businesses and industrial facilities we service, to develop programs tailored to their needs and the market place.

Northern Illinois Disposal Service was the first in the area to pioneer single stream residential recycling collection. This allows us to offer the collection of a wider range of marketable materials that can be recycled cost effectively.

How to Prepare Your Recycling
We recycle on the same day as your refuse pickup and we suggest that you use paper grocery bags as additional containers and dividers. Please do not use garbage cans or plastic bags for your recyclable materials. All food containers must be rinsed and the lids should be put in your garbage cart.
Corrugated cardboard must be flattened and cut or folded to 2 feet by 2 feet. The maximum size that will be collected is 3 feet by 3 feet. Tie the pieces together in manageable bundles with string, tape or twine. Pizza boxes should be put in your garbage cart.

Only recycle the following items: newspapers, magazines, catalogs, junk mail, office paper, aluminum cans, steel cans, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles (#1 through #7), and corrugated cardboard.
